Progressive Boaters Insurance Traveling Booth: Welcome Harbor Blue Beacon
Concept: The Welcome Harbor Blue Beacon is a reflection of Progressive's own branding, seamlessly weaving the Shantys' narrative into the fabric of our experience. As the inaugural encounter for event attendees, it immediately establishes Progressive as a focal point. This blue beacon, serving as the Shantys' haven, invites visitors to delve deeper into their maritime world.
Description: Follow the guiding blue beacon to embark on a seaside journey within the walls of our lighthouse, the Shantys' cherished abode. The interior, adorned with maritime artifacts and furnishings, offers a glimpse into the sailor's life. Chronicles of boat restorations by Progressive adorn the walls, while shelves and hooks display premium offerings. Delightful surprises like "Twiggy's House" enrich the experience, solidifying the bond with our beloved characters.
Execution: Beyond its visual allure, the lighthouse doubles as a beacon illuminating the event. Its lower level serves as a stage for the Shantys' adventures, while interactive elements like trivia games trigger a rotating blue beacon and a melodic siren song. Flexibility is ensured with customizable oil paintings reflecting regional waterways.
Role: Tasked with translating vision into reality, I led the design of the space leveraging a CGS Premier trailer. Key components include:
Lightweight blue beacon lighthouse with a rotating blue light.
Enclosed display featuring a scaled Jetski model, complete with a Shanty story plaque.
Lightweight marquee sign, tailored for travel convenience.
Potential addition of an animatronic Octopus tentacle, enriching the Shanty's tales.
Thematic BA desk for brand ambassador operations.
Innovative bag distribution system, potentially utilizing a cylindrical staircase.
Customizable wing for Discover Boating partners, ensuring adaptability for diverse events.
Challenges and Resolution: Despite unforeseen budgetary constraints, the project's completion remained a priority. Facing resource challenges towards the end of 2023, Wasserman navigated internal adjustments to ensure project continuity and quality. While recalibrating timelines and resources, leveraging internal expertise emerged as the most prudent approach, guaranteeing the project's success within constraints.
Though my involvement in the project is incomplete, the dedication to delivering a captivating experience for Progressive Boaters Insurance remains.
